Allison Holloway

Allison Holloway is a second year Ph.D. student in Education studies. After obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology with a minor in English Literature from McGill University, she completed a Master’s Degree in Education. Allison’s main research interests are gender studies, sex education, alternative discourses, and participatory visual methods.

Her Ph.D. research focuses on how to shift the discourse of consent from anti-harm to a collaboration between active individuals in secondary sex education. She is interested in young people’s experiences giving rise to new policy and resources in sex education curriculum. In collaboration with young people, she hopes to co-create future workshops that highlight a sex-positive approach.
